Mrs. Patricia âPatâ S. Gard, 72, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, February 13.
She was born on May 22, 1944 in Connersville, Indiana to Lowell C. and Francis V. Weber Hobbs. She was a 1962 graduate of Richmond High School. She married Fred Gard on October 28, 1962. They were blessed with three sons and 54 years together.
Pat worked 10 years as a secretary and three years as a pharmacy tech in addition to being a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family.
Pat will be missed by her husband, Fred Gard; sons & daughters-in-law, Mike & Kathy Gard, Dale & Amy Gard and Kent & Sherry Gard; grandchildren, Brent Gard, Tim Gard, Morgan Gard, Seth Gard, Macy Gard and Thomas Gard; sister, Sharon Smith; brothers, Donald Hobbs, Stanley Hobbs and his wife, Sara; and several nieces & nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Major; brother, Paul Hobbs; brother-in-law, Joseph Smith; and sister-in-law, Sandy Hobbs.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Danny Cross at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, at the funeral home.
