Fountain City

   Randall A. Sadler, 67, of Fountain City, passed away onThursday, January 23, at Reid Health.

   Randy was born in in Richmond, Indiana on February 2, 1957 to William A. & Marilyn C. Schankel Sadler. He was a 1975 graduate of Northeastern High School. On July 9, 1977, he and the former Kathy L. Owens were wed. They shared 47 years of marriage and were blessed with two children and four grandsons.

   Randy retired from Belden in 2022, where he was a member of the 25-Year Club and worked as a welder-fabricator. In his younger years, he cherished the time he spent working alongside his grandfather at Swayne-Robinson. In retirement, Randy enjoyed reconnecting with some of his friends he had made every Wednesday at the Breakfast Club.

   Randy poured himself into his family. He loved spending time with his grandsons and attending their events. He took every opportunity to visit with his boys in Arizona. He enjoyed working on cars and tinkering on his Mustang. He and Kathy enjoyed time spent taking long drives together and discovering new places to eat and see. He still enjoyed getting out into the wind on his Harley-Davidson once in a while, though not as often as he used to. His faith was as important as he and his family worshiped at Community of Faith.

   Randy will be missed by his wife, Kathy, father, Bill Sadler; daughter & son-in-law, Kristy & Richie Anderson; son & daughter-in-law, Jeremy & Jessica Sadler; grandchildren, Clayton Anderson, Graham Sadler, Caeden Sadler and Liam Sadler; sisters & brothers-in-law, Robin & Duane Moore, Renee & Ronnie Pennington and Rett & Tony Foster; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

   Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Sadler, in 2017.

   Randy’s family will hold a private service, followed by interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

   Memorial contributions are encouraged for the Northeastern Wayne FFA, c/o Northeastern High School, 7295 US 27 North, Fountain City, IN 47341.
