Rex D. Keesling, 78, went to meet his Savior, Lord and God on January 10, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m. He was with his beloved wife of 59½ years, Pam, doing what he loved, feeding his animals on his little farm.
“He was the best man I ever knew. He loved his God, his wife, children, grandchildren and was always friendly with the people he met and shared his Christian faith.” -Pam
Rex was born in Kennard, Indiana on July 20, 1945, to William Gerald & Isabelle Jane Darling Keesling. He graduated from Knightstown High School in 1964. He married the former Pamela Anne McClain on July 17, 1964. Their union was blessed with two children and 59½ years together.
Rex enjoyed a 41-year career with Dana Corporation and retired as a supervisor. He was formerly a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church in Henry, where he served on the church board of trustees. He was a longtime and faithful member of Lifespring Church, where he had served as a member of the board and chairman of trustees. Rex made friends everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and managing his little slice of Heaven on earth, Daisy Hill Farm.
Rex will be missed by his wife, Pam Keesling; daughter, Kim Guard; son, Rev. Joshua Keesling & his wife, Alicia; grandchildren, Daniel Guard & fiancée, Kalynn Gillum, Benjamin Guard, Josiah Keesling, Caleb Keesling, Sarah Keesling and Bekah Keesling; siblings, Darlene Petry, Vikkie Witham, Clara Donaldson, Bonnie Manche, Daryl Keesling; step-siblings, Carla Lynch and Rick Tribbey; sister-in-law, Betty Gaddis; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special Ohio and Tennessee friends.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Catherine Mahle Keesling; son-in-law, Steve Guard; brothers, Wilbur Keesling and Fred Keesling; sister, Colleen Keesling.
Visitation for Rex will be held from 4-7 pm. on Sunday, January 14, and 10-11 a.m. on Monday, January 15 at Lifespring Church, 5600 US 27 North. A funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, at the church. Interment will follow in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, Indiana
