Richard D. âRickâ Wiesehan, 59, of Fountain City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in Richmond, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on October 4, 1954 in Richmond to Richard O. âDickâ and Anna May Brown Wiesehan, both of whom preceded him in death.
Rick was a 1972 graduate of Richmond High School. He completed training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1978 and completed studies at Northern Virginia Community College and IU East. He served on the Wayne County Sheriffâs Department from 1976 until his retirement in 2012. He also worked 10 years at Sears in Richmond. Rick loved his dogs, Sidda and Sadie, and enjoyed hanging out at Bill Baileyâs garage.
Rick will be missed by his wife, the former Terry Hawkins, to whom he was married on May 20, 1978; his son, Todd Wiesehan; special aunt, Norma Brown; grandfather, Dale Brown; special cousins, Cheryl (Don) Pierce, Tammy (Cary) Creech and Kathy Brown; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Delores and Dick Hawkins; and his Wayne County Sheriffâs Department family.
A special âThank Youâ is extended to Sheriff Jeff Cappa for his unwavering support of Rick and his family.
Mark Wesler will conduct a funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, in the Fountain City Wesleyan Church, 5600 US 27 North, Richmond.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 pm on Monday, August 25, at the church.
