Robert W. “Bob” Landis, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday night, December 7, in Richmond.
He was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on October 3, 1941, the son of William Luther & Beatrice Landis.
Bob grew up in Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelors Degree from Muhlenberg College and Masters Degree from Lehigh University. He was a History teacher before changing careers to become a sales rep for The Tappan Company. He moved to Fountain City in 1972 following a promotion within Tappan’s Kemper Division.
Bob went on to enjoy a long career as an independent sales representative, traveling throughout the Midwest as he established and maintained a long list of clients.
Bob’s main hobby was hunting. His hunting trips took him around the globe.
Bob will be missed by his wife, Shelly and their two sons Tell Sifford and Matthew Sifford; and 11 grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Larkin.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
