Mrs. Rosann E. âRosieâ Rayborn, 72, of Fountain City, passed away Thursday, August 22.
She was born May 29, 1941 in Richmond to Charles Ray and Josephine Elizabeth Phenis Davis. She was a 1959 graduate of Richmond High School. She married Curt Rayborn on January 7, 1960, a union which was blessed with 4 daughters.
Rosann served 38 years as a switchboard operator at Reid Hospital before retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and shopping but her greatest joy came from the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosann will be missed by her husband, Curt; daughters Suzanne Raridan and her husband, Gary, of Cambridge City; Nancy Rayborn, of Richmond; Carol Jarvis, of Fountain City; Kathy Gonzalez and her husband, Oscar, of Fountain City; 9 grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, 2 sisters, Nancy Moore, of Florida and Jenny House and her husband, Melvin, of Richmond; 1 brother John âSkeeterâ Davis and his wife, Pam, of Richmond; her mother-in-law, Flora Clarice Rayborn, of Jackson, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosann was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson, Paul Crowe; and her father-in-law, Dalton Rayborn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, in St. Mary Catholic Church, 710 North A Street, Richmond. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, August 26, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m.
