Ruth Cole

   Ruth C. Cole, 94, formerly of Fountain City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31.

   She was born in Rock Castle County, Kentucky on December 14, 1928 to Burdette & Sophia Dillingham Brown. Ruth married Charles C. Cole on October 1, 1948. They were blessed with three children and 68 years of marriage before his death on June 23, 2017.

   Mrs. Cole lived in the Fountain City community since 1968. She was a founding member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville. She later became a faithful member of the First Church of Christ in Lynn. She was retired from Nettle Creek Industries.

   Mrs. Cole will be missed by her daughters, Debra Hoppe and Cynthia Cole; son, Burton Cole; grandchildren, Michael Cole (Melissa), David Cole (Bobbi), Sarah Sharits and Kimberly Smith (Pete); great-grandchildren, Alek, Christian, Bryce, Paige, Valerie, Charles, Grace, Avery and Oliver; and several nieces & nephews.

   Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles C. Cole; daughter-in-law, Pamela Cole; great-granddaughter, Kara Marie Cole; sisters, Sue Pike and Helen Bray; and brother, Eugene Brown.

   Paul Nichols will conduct a funeral ceremony at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US Hwy 27, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

   Family and friends may gather from Noon–1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, at the funeral home.
