Sarah J. McNutt Hegedus, 97, formerly of Fountain City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, in Winter Garden, Florida.
She was born on December 14, 1919 in Fountain City, Indiana to Vernon D. and Garnet M. Wolfe McNutt, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hegedus was raised in the Fountain City community. She was formerly a beautician in her own shop, Sarah’s Beauty Shop. She later worked in banking in Indiana and Florida.
Mrs. Hegedus will be missed by her daughters, Sharon Whirley and her husband, Jeff; and Sue Dalbey; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Joyce Eavey.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hegedus was preceded in death by her first husband, Max V. Brown; second husband, L. Dean Guthrie; third husband, Carl Hegedus; and one sister, Joan Chalfant.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 18, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm on Saturday November 18, at the funeral home.
