Shelby Robbins, 76, formerly of the Webster community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, March 26, 2014.
She was born on September 4, 1937 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Eldon and Maxine Sizemore Longworth, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1955 graduate of Whitewater High School. Shelby married Dale Robbins on October 6, 1957. They were blessed with three children and 56 years of happiness.
Shelby was a homemaker and also worked at US Bank, from where she retired after 26 years of service. She was a faithful member of the Fountain City Wesleyan Church who lived her faith as a selfless woman devoted to helping others and loving her family.
Shelby will be missed by her husband, Dale; daughters, Jennifer Hughes and her husband, Jim; and Julie Harvey; son, Mark Robbins and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Alex Hughes, Ashton Harvey, Tyler Stanley and Thomas Stanley; sisters, Marlene Jackson, Cheryl Scott and Sandra Moreland; brother, Stan Longworth and his wife, Doris; and several nieces & nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m. â 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at the funeral home.
