Sherry Smith

   Sherry Leigh Smith, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20.

   Sherry was born in Winchester, Indiana on September 9, 1960, to Odell & Elizabeth Wilson Morrison. She was a 1979 graduate of Winchester High School. Sherry attended Eastern Kentucky University before enrolling in the IU School of Nursing, where she received her BSN in 1989. Always a giving and selfless person, Sherry devoted her life to nursing the sick and helping others. She formerly worked at Reid Health and in area nursing homes. She was currently nursing at IU Blackford Hospital in Hartford City and Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, Ohio. Her last shift was the day -and night- before her passing in her sleep at home.

   When Sherry wasn’t giving to others, she was doing what she enjoyed most, spending time with her grandchildren and attending concerts with family and friends.

   Sherry will be missed by her sons & daughters-in-law, Jonathan D. & Casey Smith and Jackson R. & Kara Smith; her grandchildren, Hattie Smith, Audrey Smith and Raylan Smith; her father, Odell Morrison; sister & brother-in-law, Tracy & Jimmy Carpenter; brother & sister-in-law, Jerry & Brenda Morrison; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Liz Morrison, in 2013.

   Family & friends may gather from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 26 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.

   Sherry’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 26 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
