Stephanie Caplinger Williams, 39, of Economy, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 28, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.


She was born January 14, 1970 in Richmond to Daniel and Carol Huffman Caplinger. She graduated from Northeastern High School in 1988 and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Business College. She was the secretary and bookkeeper of Williams Garage in Economy, which she co-owned with her husband, Roger.


Stephanie was a proud mother who loved spending time with her children. She coached baseball and was currently a board member of the Hagerstown Little League.


Stephanie will be missed by her husband, Roger Williams, of Economy; daughter, Cassandra Stage, of Economy; son, Thorin Stage, of Economy; her parents, Daniel and Carol Caplinger, of Fountain City; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Chip Baker, of Success, Missouri and Emily and Scott Glander, of West Manchester, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Martha and Paul Thomas, of Richmond; step-children, Heather Williams and Bradley Williams, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.


Stephanie was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Huffman; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Annette Caplinger.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Chip Baker and George Haskett at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, at the funeral home.
