Thelma Marie Lamb, 97, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014.
She was born October 19, 1916 in Wayne County to Oscar and Clara Rusk Lammott. She had lived in the Williamsburg community since 1936. She served as a cook in the cafeteria of Williamsburg School and later at Northeastern High School. She was a member of the Williamsburg Friends Meeting, the Friendship Home Ec Club and was a former member of the Knights of Pythias. She enjoyed baking pies, sewing and farm life.
Mrs. Lamb will be missed by her son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Tami Lamb; daughter-in-law, Linda Lamb; five grandchildren, Laura (William) Hope; Valerie (Andrew) May; Kim (Scott) Lamb; Terry (Debbie) Lamb; Michael (Jenny) Lamb; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob May; Matt (Jenn) Gaylor; Josh (Shannon) Gaylor; Gage, Trinity, Alexis and Austin Lamb; two great-great-grandchildren, Kinley and Bronx Gaylor; sister Geneva Petty; and nieces and nephews.
Her many special friends and caregivers at Heritage House will also miss her.
Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 69 years, Richard Lamb in 2005; son, James Lamb in 2012; and brothers, Virgil, Vernon, Lloyd and Orville Lammott.
Rev. Phil Baisley will conduct a funeral ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, at the funeral home.
