Todd Robert McQuiston, age 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19th at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan following surgery due to a brain aneurism.
Todd was born on January 23rd, 1967, in Richmond Indiana.
He was a 1985 graduate of Northeastern High School, where he was a 3-sport letter winner. He continued his education at DePauw University, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Todd then continued his education at Weidner University School of Law, where he was a member of Moot Court and graduated with a Law Degree in 1992.
Todd practiced law in Chicago for more than 25 years, where he helped numerous families across the globe who lost family members to air disasters. His compassion made him well suited to fight for those who could not fight for themselves.
Todd was an avid reader and would take daily walks, where he spent time enjoying nature and the various wildlife that crossed his path. Also, he loved golfing and socializing with neighbors and friends. His major passion was spending time with his family, who will miss his loving personality and his competitive nature in numerous card and board games.
He is survived by his parents, Philip and Martha McQuiston; his brother and sister-in-law, Vonn and Kimberly McQuiston; his two nieces, Mackenzie and Lauren McQuiston; along with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He was preceded by his brother, Quinn K. McQuiston, who passed away in 1978 after a 3-year battle with cancer, as well as maternal grandparents Bobby and Josephine “Meme” Smith and JR and Mary “Gigi” McQuiston.
Public funeral visitation will be held from 12-3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25th at Smith-McQuiston and Webster Funeral Home in Fountain City.
Todd’s family will hold a private service, with burial to follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
