Mrs. Violet Barker, 87, formerly of Fountain City, passed away on Friday, September 23.
She was born on July 19, 1929 in Richmond, Indiana to Cecil P. and Dorothy M. Harris Hall. She was united in marriage to Wilbur L. Barker on October 23, 1945. They were blessed with four children and 55 years of marriage before his death on February 9, 2001.
Violet formerly worked as a cook at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond and also worked at the Quaker Hill Conference Center in Richmond. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, crocheting and reading.
Violet will be missed by her daughters, Kathy (Rick) Brown and Dana (Mike) Rigg; sons, Jerry (Cindy) Barker and James (Michaelle Richard); 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, brother, Ralland (Dixie) Hall and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Donna Brown and Frances Hall.
Interment will be held at the familyâs convenience.
