Virgil Love

   Virgil B. Love, 86, formerly of Webster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, March 14.

Virgil was born on January 29, 1939 in New Garden Township,Wayne County, Indiana to Howard C. & Reba E. Gray Love. Hewas a 1957 graduate of Williamsburg High School.

Virgil worked for Dana Corporation in the 1960s. He later owned & operated Love’s Colonial Marathon on Chester Boulevard. He later was a mechanic at Bruce AMC and Fred First Ford. In his younger days, he could be found racing his Ford Fairlane on Eldora Speedway and many other area tracks. Virgil also enjoyed fishing. He was a faithful member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.

Virgil will be missed by his special friend and companion, Peggy Satterfield; children, Debbie Logston & companion, Steve, Scott McDaniel & wife, Carrie, Dana Goodwin & husband, Gary, Denise Nelson & husband, Rickey, Stuart McDaniel & wife, Teresa, Deanne Barley & husband, Martin; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Wilmoth,and several nieces & nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years, Judy Love; his wife of 3 years, Janet Love; and brother, Donald Love.

Pastor Jerry Smith will conduct a funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Webster Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. onThursday, March 20, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
