William J. âBillâ Crull, 83, of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday, February 19, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
He was born September 12, 1928 in Wayne County, Indiana to Frank and Edna Mae Scott Crull. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1946 and married the former Joyce Hinshaw on September 17, 1950.
Mr. Crull operated a dairy farm until 1969. He later owned and operated Williamsburg Grain Elevator for 12 years and drove a bus for Rose City Transit for 10 years. From 1995-2008, he worked as a tax preparer with B & J Bookkeeping. He was a lifetime member of Williamsburg Friends Meeting and was a member of the Santa Gertrudis Polled Beef Association. He enjoyed reading, especially Westerns, and enjoyed watching football and basketball.
Mr. Crull was the last surviving charter member of the Williamsburg Lions Club and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award.
Mr. Crull will be missed by his wife, Joyce, of Williamsburg; daughter, Patricia Crull, of Brownsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Sharon Crull, of Hartsville; Timothy & Anita Crull, of New Castle; grandchildren, Chad Crull, of Hagerstown; Brandi Farmer (Jeremy), of Greens Fork; Todd Crull (Jill) , of Modoc; great-grandchildren, Marti Rae Crull, Noah Federico; Cassie Federico; Zane Farmer, Sophie Farmer, Heather Crull, Olivia Crull, James Crull, Zack Crull; sisters, Susan Fisher (Tony) of Brownsburg; Betty Jean Locke, of Winchester; sister-in-law, Myra Lou Crull, of New Paris, OH; and several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Crull was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Tom Crull.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 22 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, at the funeral home.
