Mrs. Wilma Jean Smith, 74, of the Webster community, passed away on Friday morning, February 16, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville.
She was born in Lee County, Kentucky on December 2, 1943 to Carlos and Golda Kendrick Brandenburg.
Wilma Jean worked at the former Wayne Corp. in Richmond. She was an Elvis Presley fan. She enjoyed taking Sunday drives and going out to eat.
Wilma Jean will be missed by her daughters & sons-in-law, Tammy & Scott Lacey and Karen & Rodney Stewart; sons & daughters-in-law, John & Ronda Smith, Jeff & Jill Smith and Billy & Debbie Smith; the father of her children, William E. Smith; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mae Wooten and Anne Richardson; brothers William Brandenburg, Don Brandenburg, Tim Brandenburg and several nieces & nephews.
Wilma Jean was preceded in death by her parents, son, Daren Smith; two grandsons, Billy Smith and Joey Smith; sisters, Madelene, Sylvia, Susie and Mary Gladys; brother, James Harold Brandenburg.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 18, at the Newnam Funeral Home, 108 Center Street in Beattyville, KY. Interment will follow in Brandenburg Cemetery on Hale Ridge Road in Lee County, KY.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm on Sunday, February 18, at the funeral home.
