Winifred âWinnieâ J. Lee Andrews, 84, of Fountain City, formerly of the Modoc community, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
She was born on August 22, 1929 in Indianapolis to Fred and Orpha Conyers Lamb. She was a graduate of Modoc High School. She formerly worked as a teller at Farmerâs State Bank before co-owning and operating the Modoc Food Market & Hardware for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Richmond and enjoyed animals and watching Colts football.
Survivors include her husband, John Andrews; daughter and son-in-law, Jacky and Paul Harman; son and daughter-in-law, Braynt and Jennifer Lee; Johnâs children, daughter Cheryl Hinshaw and her husband, Ed; and son Rev. Dr. Dennis Andrews and his wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Amy Combs, Emily and Jeff Hernly, Jay and Chastity Hinshaw, Dr. Karen Andrews, Andrew and Jennifer Blank and J. Michael and Brittany Andrews; great-grandchildren, Kendell and Marissa Combs, Madelyn and Mason Hinshaw and Carter V. Andrews.
Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Alice Kent, Thelma Harnish and Louise Lamb; and her former husband, Jack Lee.
A memorial ceremony will be conducted by Pastor David Layman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, at the First Presbyterian Church, 100 North 10th Street, Richmond.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 3-4 PM on Tuesday, October 29, at the church.
